The Crimson Kimono is one of the most sought-after armor sets in Ghost of Yōtei, catering to players who prioritize stealth and tactical gameplay. Unlocking this powerful gear requires completing a specialized Mythic Tale centered around local folklore and environmental tracking. Understanding where to begin the quest and what rewards await at the end ensures you do not miss this valuable addition to Atsu's arsenal.
Starting Location for The Crimson Kimono Quest
To initiate the quest, travel to the snowy wilderness of Teshio Ridge located on the eastern side of the region. Look for a vibrant Mother Daughter tree adorned with bright orange foliage near Sakuru Woods. Beneath the tree, speak with Ugetsu the storyteller to begin the Mythic Tale.
After listening to the legend, interact with the nearby snow sculpture to trigger the appearance of glowing red Yuki Mushi fireflies. Following these fireflies will lead you to the first journal entry, pointing your search toward the Hakodake Mountains.
Tracking the Red Yuki Mushi Across Teshio Ridge
Your search continues as you travel north toward the base of the Hakodake Mountains to locate the second orange tree. Interact with the sculpture beneath its branches, but prepare to defend yourself against an ambush by local shinobi. Defeating these foes allows you to follow the fireflies up the cliffside to an abandoned shack.
The final Mother Daughter tree is situated near the center of the region, north of the Teshio River. Following the glowing trail through a mountain cave leads directly to the secluded location known as the Old Home. Exploring the house and repairing the final snow sculpture outside reveals the path to the mother's grave.
Crimson Kimono Rewards and Combat Benefits
Examine the rocks near the grave behind the Old Home to acquire the complete Crimson Kimono armor set. This armor is specifically engineered for stealth gameplay, drastically reducing enemy detection range in the field. It allows players to eliminate targets quietly before open combat ever begins.
In addition to increased stealth capability, the Crimson Kimono unlocks extended assassination distance when using the Kusarigama. Upgrading the armor through local armorers enables players to perform chain assassinations using multiple Kunai, making it ideal for clearing entire camps without breaking cover.
